Character Model Sheet Templates

A model sheet is a contract. It says: this is how tall she is, this is where the belt sits, this is the shape of the collar. Whether the reader is a client, an animator, a collaborator or you in three months, the job is to remove guesswork.

The landmark lines are the whole trick

Every turnaround carries the same horizontal guides — chin, shoulder, chest, navel, hip, knee — right across all four views, plus a head-unit ruler down the left. Draw the front view, then use the lines rather than your eye to place everything else. If a feature will not land on its line in the side view, the front view was wrong.

The back view is where most designs fall apart, because it is the one nobody draws for fun. It is also the view an animator or 3D artist needs most.
