Every template has three nested rectangles, and understanding them is the difference between a page that prints and a page that comes back with somebody’s head cut off.
Bleed (dashed) — artwork meant to run off the edge must reach this far. Trim (solid) — where the page is actually cut. Inner frame (blue) — everything essential stays inside this.
B4 manuscript for B5 printing is the Japanese commercial standard. A4 for B5 is the doujinshi standard and what most home printers can handle. US comic board is 11×17 inch with a 6.625×10.25 inch trim. All measured properly, all supplied at 600 dpi.
The 20 layouts are a starting grid, not a cage. Lay one down, then break it deliberately where the story needs it.
